There is an old way of working but the new way of working is a workplace that is fully connected & collaborative.  People now work together in ways you wouldn’t have imagined just a few years ago, not only collaborating internally with colleagues from the office next door but deeply collaborating with colleagues and clients halfway across the world.

The following are reason why you should consider making the transition to Microsoft Teams now:

  • People are on twice as many teams as they were just a few years ago, and Microsoft Teams allows you to manage and govern this
  • Commuting times have become a big problem in large metropolitan cities resulting in lack of employee productivity
  • Your employees no longer need to worry about dressing up for work possibly cutting down the stress and preparation times
  • People on projects are constantly changing and you need a mechanism to quickly ramp them up instead of sifting through all your e-mail to find the information needed to get the new person up to speed
  • The new way of work is team-based and collaborative and being on more teams means an increase in the amount of collaboration.  This requires tools such as sharing screens, voice/video meetings, calls and chatting.
  • Teams now consist of a mix of internal employees but people outside to the organization.  This can be contingent workers, contractors, consultants, vendors, partners, or clients and you need a mechanism of adding these guests to your team (preferably without having to pay for them!).
  • These remote workers expect that your organization will have the tools required for them to communicate and collaborate with your employees.
  • Teams are increasingly geo distributed and employees are no longer necessarily in the same office, let alone the same time zone.
  • Face to face conversations are becoming more challenging so the next best thing is video conferencing.
  • Employees have their own preference in the way they communicate, whether it is threaded chatting or audio/video conferencing.
  • Millennials are accounting for a greater portion of workers and they need a more open collaborative-centric working environment
  • Hiring and retaining top talent will necessitate or require the flexibility a remote working option built into their employment agreement
  • Employees now require answers faster than traditional email through direct chatting channels
  • Engaged, active and collaborative workforces lead to high productivity, competitor outperformance and greater profits
  • Most organizations already have access to Teams as part of their Office/Microsoft 365 subscription or with a simple and affordable licensing upgrade
  • Employees require all the traditional content management, co-authoring and integration tools in a simple, easy to use interface
  • Enterprises require an extensible, customizable and personalizable platform for Teamwork
  • Workforces require a mobile friendly & operating system agnostic platform that works on all their devices with apps and any preference of browser
  • Organizations require dependable security & compliance tools embedded into their Team capabilities
  • Some sick employees are likely able to work remotely instead of taking time off completely
