Yesterday, Microsoft released an article on the TechNet community announcing a new refreshed experience for OneDrive across the web and mobile.  With this new refresh Microsoft is hoping to make it easier for end users to find important items easier along with keeping up to date with the changes happening on your files.  These changes are due to be launched for the end of 2018.

Some of the highlights include:

  • A new layout to use screen space more efficiently
  • New text styles to make it easier to scan file names
  • An experience to allow you to notice information quicker
  • New tile view experience
  • A more harmonious experience across the web and your devices for a consistent experience
  • Preview capabilities of over 270 file types so you don’t have to open the file
  • Reworked file icons to make them more modern yet still recognizable
  • A new compact list with more items into uncluttered folder views in OneDrive and SharePoint
  • Office graph powered views to show items that are trending, popular, newly added
  • File card to understand history, impact and collaborators to better understand what’s happening with your files
  • Recent files enhancements across OneDrive, Office.com and Office apps
  • Accessibility enhancements
